𝐅𝐔𝐍𝐆 𝐂𝐡𝐢𝐡-𝐂𝐡𝐢𝐚𝐧𝐠 𝐀𝐜𝐜𝐞𝐩𝐭𝐬 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐅𝐮𝐤𝐮𝐨𝐤𝐚 𝐀𝐮𝐝𝐢𝐞𝐧𝐜𝐞 𝐀𝐰𝐚𝐫𝐝
𝐅𝐔𝐍𝐆 𝐂𝐡𝐢𝐡-𝐂𝐡𝐢𝐚𝐧𝐠, the film director of “𝐂𝐨𝐧𝐜𝐞𝐫𝐭𝐨 𝐨𝐟 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐁𝐮𝐥𝐥𝐲”, in accepting the 𝐅𝐮𝐤𝐮𝐨𝐤𝐚 𝐀𝐮𝐝𝐢𝐞𝐧𝐜𝐞 𝐀𝐰𝐚𝐫𝐝 last night, informed the audience that the film was a 10 year old project dating back to 2008. He then went on to thank all who made the motion picture possible including his investors, his producer, Ronald Cheng, the starring actor with his great voice and performance, Cherry Ngan, the starring actress who displayed her passion in her acting, his other cast members such as Chrissie Chau, Philip Keung and JA, his Art Director who built the beautiful boat house, his co-screenwriter, his editor and his entire staff. He made a special mention of Peter Kam, who was in charge of the music of the film, as being “indispensable”. He also thanked his parents, younger brother and his family. And last but not least, he expressed his heartfelt gratitude to the audience. “All I would like to say”, he concluded “ is that we all believe this film will take us to another world.
𝐐𝐔𝐄𝐊 𝐒𝐡𝐢𝐨 𝐂𝐡𝐮𝐚𝐧 𝐀𝐜𝐜𝐞𝐩𝐭𝐬 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐊𝐮𝐦𝐚𝐦𝐨𝐭𝐨 𝐂𝐢𝐭𝐲 𝐀𝐰𝐚𝐫𝐝
In accepting the 𝐊𝐮𝐦𝐚𝐦𝐨𝐭𝐨 𝐂𝐢𝐭𝐲 𝐀𝐰𝐚𝐫𝐝 (the runner up prize) as the film director of “𝐆𝐮𝐚𝐧𝐠”, 𝐐𝐔𝐄𝐊 𝐒𝐡𝐢𝐨 𝐂𝐡𝐮𝐚𝐧 first expressed his gratitude at being able to participate in the 𝐅𝐨𝐜𝐮𝐬 𝐨𝐧 𝐀𝐬𝐢𝐚 𝐅𝐮𝐤𝐮𝐨𝐤𝐚 𝐈𝐧𝐭𝐞𝐫𝐧𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐚𝐥 𝐅𝐢𝐥𝐦 𝐅𝐞𝐬𝐭𝐢𝐯𝐚𝐥. He then thanked the audience for recognizing his film for the award after which he dedicated the award to his crew for their hard work and years of support. He also thanked his family and friends for their long-term support as well. But most importantly, he thanked his brother, who is a true to life autistic individual, for being his source of ultimate inspiration in the film. QUEK Shio Chuan closed his speech by saying he plans to continue doing his best to bring better films to Fukuoka and Japan.
